My Story
How motherhood led me to supporting families through the fourth trimester.
Hi, I’m Deanna Palumbo. Since I was a kid, I’ve been fascinated with pregnancy and babies. But it wasn’t until becoming a mom myself that I truly understood how important support can be during the postpartum period.
After having a birth doula during my pregnancy and my daughter’s birth, my partner and I experienced firsthand how invaluable it was to have someone offering reassurance, knowledge, and practical guidance. As I transitioned into parenthood, I became deeply aware of how much support families need during this time.
Before becoming a mom, I was already drawn to supporting families—I just didn’t know yet that it was something I could turn into a career. My older sister has three kids and lives in the area— I was very excited to help out not only with her newborns but also by giving the older siblings attention as a new baby was brought home. This meant things like going over early in the morning to hold baby so mom and dad could sleep, helping with feeding and diaper changes so the parents could shower or eat.
Where It Started
I strongly believe no parent should have to navigate the fourth trimester feeling overwhelmed or alone. My passion is helping families feel confident and supported as they adjust to life with their new baby. Whether that means newborn care education, emotional support, breastfeeding support, helping with meals and laundry, or simply being a peaceful presence in the home, I strive to help parents trust themselves and their abilities.
Why This Work Matters to Me
Training & Experience
I trained as a postpartum doula through DONA International and have gained hands-on experience supporting families with a variety of needs and newborn care routines. My approach combines practical, evidence-based support with gentle education to help parents feel empowered.
I am also a certified prenatal and postpartum yoga instructor through Spirit Organic and am currently working toward my Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) certification through Healthy Children Project.
My goal is simple: to help families feel confident, capable, and supported as they adjust to life with their new baby.
